Mineral Point – Edward “Ed” Bendik, age 80, passed away on Friday, July 24, 2026. Born in Maiglockchendorf, Germany, Ed built a life defined by service, hard work, and friendship.

A proud Vietnam veteran, Ed served his country with honor before pursuing a career as an engineer. He was known for his strong work ethic, his willingness to lend a hand, and the lasting friendships he built throughout his life. In his quieter moments, Ed found joy in tending to flowers and spending time with the many friends who became like family.

Ed is survived by his loving daughter, Cynthia Rhodes; his granddaughter, Taylor Rhodes; and his grandson, Rowan Rhodes. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, August 7, 2026 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the MINERAL POINT AMERICAN LEGION Post No. 170, 9th Street, Mineral Point, Wisconsin, where family and friends are invited to gather, share stories, and celebrate Ed’s life.

In true Ed fashion, we’ll remember him with a smile and the words he so often said:

“You Betcha.”
