Mineral Point – Doris "Jeanne" Fitzsimons passed away on February 15, 2015 at the Upland Hills Health and Rehab Center after a short battle with brain cancer. She was surrounded by family at the time of her death. She will be remembered by everyone as a giving, cheerful person who always put the needs of others ahead of her own. This continued right up until the very end.

Jeanne was born on May 19, 1949 in Dodgeville, the daughter of Willis and Doris (Vivian) Suthers. She attended Mineral Point High School and graduated in the class of 1967. She received her Bachelor's Degree from UW-Platteville in 1972 and had a long career in healthcare as a Medical Technologist working at the Memorial Hospital, Family Practice Associates Clinic, and Dean Clinic in Dodgeville. Jeanne married Dale Fitzsimons in 1971 after a six-year courtship.

Jeanne is survived by her husband, Dale Fitzsimons of Mineral Point; her two sons Patrick (Jenny) Fitzsimons of Platteville and Michael (David Steele) Fitzsimons of San Francisco; granddaughters Alicia Rotier of Dubuque and Hypatia Fitzsimons of Platteville; sisters Peg (Steve) Lyman and Dixie (Bill) Ross; and many special aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and close friends. She is preceded in death by her parents Willis and Doris (Vivian) Suthers.

In honor of Jeanne's memory the family will be holding a celebration of her life at Tony's Tap in Mineral Point on February 21, 2015 from 2:00 until 5:00pm.
