Dodgeville - Donna J. Jewell, age 79, of Dodgeville, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, February 4, 2012 at Upland Hills Health in Dodgeville.

She was born on September 24, 1932 and graduated from Dodgeville High School in 1950. On December 18, 1954, she married John C. "Jack" Jewell at Dodgeville United Methodist Church. She worked for Phil Gas in Madison and Daniel McKinley Law Office after high school. In 1964, Donna and Jack bought Dodgeville Florist and in 1969 purchased the East Side Florist in Dodgeville. Together, they ran the Dodgeville Florist until 1994, when they sold the business and retired.

Donna loved golfing, fishing, reading, gardening and especially in the later years, bird watching. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, the Red Hat Club of Dodgeville and Dodge-Point Country Club.

Donna is survived by her husband, Jack; her son, Michael John Jewell, of Dodgeville; her sister-in-law, Margaret (Richard) Hannon, of Racine; nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her son, James C. Jewell in 1994, her mother, Zelda Reed, her uncle, Andrew Wedlick, her aunt, Bessie Walker and her half sister, Dorothy Richards.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 9, 2012 at the GORGEN-McGINLEY & AYERS FUNERAL HOME in Dodgeville. Pastor Rom A. Pegram will officiate. Burial will be held in East Side Cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.

Donna touched a lot of lives and will be missed by all who knew her.
