Mineral Point - Donald T. Powell, age 86, of Mineral Point passed away peacefully on May 22, 2016.

He was born in Ridgeway to parents William H. and Erna W. (Streich) Powell. He moved to Mineral Point in 1937, and graduated from Mineral Point High School in 1949. He served in the US Navy from 1950 to 1954 during the Korean Conflict. He was married on May 25, 1957 to Patricia Alton at First United Methodist Church in Mineral Point.

He is survived by his wife Pat of 58 years. His children Steve (Janie), Scott, and Sandy (Greg) Trollop; grandchildren Chad (Michelle), Josh (Katrina), Wyatt, Whitney Powell, Abby and Alex Trollop; three great-grandchildren Sivuan, Ryker, and Aimsleigh Powell; daughter-in-law Vicki Powell (Sandy Pehler); sisters Genevieve Peplinski, Frances Powell, Margaret (Bill) Heins, and Marian Hunter; uncle Walter Streich, and aunt Mary Streich; brothers-in-law Ray Hanson and Merle U'Ren, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; infant brothers William and Harold; sisters Isabell Hanson, Darlene U'Ren, Bernice (Larry) Martin; brother Bob (Rachel) Powell; brothers-in-law Joe Peplinski, and Tom Hunter.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 12:00 noon on Thursday, May 26, 2016 at the FIRST UNITED METHODIST CHURCH in Mineral Point. Pastor Gerhardt Miller will officiate. A visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until time of services on Thursday at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established. Military services will be held by the Homer & Lee Parkinson Mineral Point Post 170 at the church following the service.
