Dodgeville – Donald M. "Ole" Stephenson, age 91, of Dodgeville, passed away on Thursday, October 19, 2017 at Bloomfield Healthcare.

Ole was born on December 31, 1925 in Highland, WI, a son of the late Reynold and Sylvia (Draves) Stephenson. He served in the U.S. Army during W.W. II. On September 23, 1947, he married Mary Jane Foley in Highland. They farmed until 1973 in the Dodgeville Area and then he started working for Singer Lumber as a carpenter until retirement.

He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and the Dodgeville American Legion. He loved fishing, hunting, woodworking and refinishing furniture.

Ole is survived by his daughters Kathy (Jerry) Hoff of Rockford and Marge (Willie) Aurit of Dodgeville; his grandchildren Don (Connie) Hoff and Sara Jane (Brian) Harkness all of Rockford and Rob (Renee) Aurit, Dan Aurit and Liz (Jeremy Kooi) Dannenberg all of Dodgeville; his 8 great grandchildren Will and Layne Aurit, Tucker and Max Dannenberg, Kiersten and Olivia Hoff, Gracie Jane and Kathryn Harkness; his sister Barb (Dean) Soppola of Sauk City; other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by wife Mary Jane, his parents, his sisters Darlene Howland and Betty Prochaska and his brother Bob Stephenson.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 23, 2017 at GRACE LUTHERAN CHURCH in Dodgeville. Rev. Mark Williamson will officiate. Burial will be held in East Side Cemetery with Military Honors accorded by the Dodgeville Area Veterans. Friends may call from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. on Sunday at the GORGEN-McGINLEY & AYERS FUNERAL HOME in Dodgeville and from 10:00 a.m. until time of services on Monday at the church.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made to Grace Lutheran Church or Bloomfield Healthcare.
