Ridgeway – Donald J. Murphy, age 93, of Ridgeway, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 15, 2025 at CrestRidge Memory Care with his family by his side.

He was born on March 19, 1932, in Dodgeville, WI, the son of Marlin and Greta (Cushman) Murphy. He married Delores E. Jacobson on August 11, 1956.

Don grew up on the family farm in Ridgeway and graduated from Ridgeway High School. He loved to garden and spend time in the flower gardens. He also loved to fish and hunt (in his earlier years) and spent a lot of time at the family cabin on the Wisconsin River.

Don enlisted in the Navy in 1951. After his service, he worked at Oscar Meyer for 40 years. He retired at the age of 62 to work in his gardens.

Don is survived by his daughters Tari (Bob) Greenwood, Kathie Murphy, and Jeanne Cairns; his siblings Dean Murphy, Doug Murphy, and Luann Wubbenhorst; eight grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Don was preceded in death by his wife Delores, his son Richard, his brother Jack, his parents Marlin and Greta, his sisters-in-law Shirley and Peggy, and his brother-in-law John Wubbenhorst.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 21, 2025 at ST. BRIDGET'S CATHOLIC CHURCH in Ridgeway. Inurnment will be held in St. Bridget's Cemetery with Military Graveside Rites accorded by the Ridgeway American Legion Post No. 257. Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until time of Mass on Saturday at the church. There will be a luncheon held at St. Bridget's Church in Ridgeway after the burial service.
