Obituary

Ridgeway / Dodgeville – Dolores L. Farr, age 89, passed away on Tuesday, February 4, 2020 at Upland Hills Nursing & Rehab Center.

She was born on March 2, 1930, a daughter of Charles and Irene Farr. Dolores was a very family oriented, selfless person, who always wanted to help others. She was involved in many community activities in Ridgeway as well as in Dodgeville. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and taught Sunday school for many years. She was always willing to give of herself to visit the sick and elderly in their homes as well as other residents of Upland Hills where she resided for 8 years. She was there to provide care for her mother when Alzheimer's Disease took away her independence.

She worked at Hodan Center in Mineral Point for over 20 years. If work was slow, she would be found assisting the staff in teaching art and craft projects to the other employees. She was always available for family and friends to babysit and just loved making those around her happy. Dolores's family will always remember her love of playing games with them when they were young. Some of her favorites were rummy, yahtzee and war. Although she never had children of her own, she was a mother figure to many.

She was a woman of faith and always said, "When the Lord calls me, I am ready."

Dolores is survived by her sisters Patricia Offord and Beverly Strutt; her sister-in-law June Farr; many nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings Charles Farr, Earl Farr, Clifford Farr, Violet Marks, Mary Larson and Anna Klassy.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 8, 2020 at the DODGEVILLE UNITED METHODIST CHURCH. Rev. Jim Droste will officiate. Friends may call from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. on Saturday at the church. Burial will be held in Prairie Mound Cemetery in Oregon at 1:00 p.m.

The family would like to thank the staff at Upland Hills Nursing & Rehab Center and Upland Hills Hospice for their loving care.

"I LOVE YOU ALL, GOD BLESS."
