Ridgeway -Dennis Wayne Amble, age 68, of Ridgeway passed away after a brief illness on December 29, 2013 at VA Hospital in Madison.
He was born in Dodgeville on August 16, 1945 the son of Joseph and Dorothy (Zemp) Amble. He attended Middlebury Grade School and graduated from Barneveld High School in 1963. He joined the US Air Force in 1963 serving in Okinawa, Viet Nam, Philippines and Japan and later was honorably discharged on November 11, 1967. He worked at the Powder Plant in Baraboo and later worked at Wick Homes for 40 plus years, until retiring in 2008. He was a member of the Ridgeway American Legion and the Mount Horeb VFW.
Dennis is survived by his significant other for over 40 years, Donna Morgan of Ridgeway; two sisters, Ruth (Dan Davies) Ehlert of Barneveld and her sons Kevin (Jenifer) Carden, Keith (Dana) Carden, and Kyle Carden and Joan (Gene) Montgomery of South Wayne and her sons Mike Edl and Brian Edl; 4 great nieces and nephews and many extended family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and his siblings Donald "Sonny", Harvey, and Vicki.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the GORGEN-McGINLEY & AYERS Funeral Home in Dodgeville. Pastor Steve Kottke will officiate. Burial will be in Eastside Cemetery in Ridgeway with full military rites accorded by the Ridgeway American Legion. A visitation will be held on Saturday from 9:00 until 10:50 a.m. at the funeral home.
