Ridgeway – David G. Sutter, age 84, of Ridgeway, died on Wednesday, September 14, 2022 at St. Mary's Hospital in Madison.
He was born on September 24, 1937 in Blue Mounds, a son of the late Walter and Mildred (Lund) Sutter. He graduated from Mount Horeb High School in 1955 and enlisted in the U. S. Army and served for 2 years.
David worked at the University of Wisconsin – Madison as a painter for many years, retiring in 2000. On July 11, 1981, he married Sharon M. Evans-Johnson. He was an avid Packer and Badger fan and was a member of St. Bridget's Catholic Church, serving on it church council.
David is survived by his wife of 41 years Sharon; his sons Brian (Christine) Sutter and Eric (Ellen White) Sutter; his step children Ann (Tom) Brunker, Laura (Roy) Gutowsky and Steve Johnson; his brother Duane (Julie) Sutter; his grandchildren Pauline Sutter, Jodi (Jason) Whitish, Scott (Morgan) Chapman, Kayla Chapman, Kylie (Matt) Stoffel, Katelyn (Daniel) Hulleman, Cole Gutowsky, Kassidy Gutowsky; 15 great grandchildren Aidan, Abigail, Bree, Blaek, Taylor, Mason, Callista, Cora, Keaton Hailey, Adelyn, Greyson, Emerson, Bodyn, Kaitlin; other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his son Craig Sutter, his brothers Walter and Keith Sutter.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 18, 2022 at ST. BRIDGET'S CATHOLIC CHURCH in Ridgeway. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until time of Mass on Sunday at the church. After the Mass, Military Rites will be held at the church by the Ridgeway American Legion.
