Obituary

Dodgeville – David "Bud" Gollon age 85 of Dodgeville passed away on Sunday, November 13, 2022 with his loving wife Althea by his side. He maintained his sense of humor to the end.

Bud was born in Stevens Point, WI on April 10, 1937 to Carl & Monica Gollon. Early years he was in the bait business with his father and brothers in Stevens Point. He met the love of his life Althea Repinski while picking berries on his road. They were later married in Glendive, MT in 1958. He was drafted into the US Army, where he served from 1959 to 1962. After a flood they moved with their 4 children and all their possessions in a single cab pickup to Dodgeville. They later welcomed their 5th child in 1978.

His first job in Dodgeville was at Stella Cheese, then Morton Buildings, in 1976 he then went back into the bait business with his sons. He formed Dave Gollon and Sons Live Bait, which later became Gollon Bait and Fish Farm. His passion was the bait business, and in his spare time he hunted, fished and trapped and enjoyed planting trees.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years Althea; his children David (Susan) Gollon, Audrey (Ted) Moellers, Timothy (Larc) Gollon, Amanda (Don) Schultz and Mike (Autume) Gollon; his two brothers Fritz and Billy, 18 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren.

He was proceeded in death by his parents Carl & Monica, brothers Carl "Sonny", Phil, sisters Viola, Janette and Loretta.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, November 17, 2022 at ST. JOSEPH'S CATHOLIC CHURCH in Dodgeville. Burial will be held in St. Joseph's Cemetery, where Military Graveside Rites will be held and accorded by the Dodgeville Veterans. Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the GORGEN-McGINLEY & AYERS FUNERAL HOME in Dodgeville and from 10:00 a.m. until 10:50 a.m. on Thursday at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Upland Hills Hospice or St. Joseph's School Trust Fund.
