Obituary

Mineral Point - David (Buck) Steffes, age 67, of Mineral Point, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at Upland Hills Hospital in Dodgeville.

David was born in Dodgeville, on September 4, 1955, the son of Gilbert and Anna Mae (Ruppert) Steffes. David attended Special Education classes in Dodgeville for several years. He later attended the Hodan Center in Mineral Point where he took great pride in his many accomplishments. For many years, David helped on the family farm doing many, many chores. He was an extremely hard worker and never complained.

David enjoyed watching and listening on his little transistor radio Packer, Brewer and Badger games. He enjoyed going on rides around Iowa County and beyond sharing memories. He had a remarkable memory recanting stories of many events and people. This always made us smile and just, well, shake our heads because it was then that we could recall that memory! David thoroughly enjoyed the outdoors. He would just often want a ride on "the mule" around the farm, sitting in the swing watching the sunset and listening to the sounds of nature.

David is survived by his two brothers, Glen (Stephanie) of Janesville and James (Jean) of Mineral Point; five nephews: Mike (Tara) and Mark (Trisha) Wahl of Blanchardville, Jason (Brittany) Steffes of Mineral Point, Blaise (Kelli) Steffes of Madison, Dane Steffes of Janesville. One niece: Jenna (Derek) Vinje of Ridgeway and many other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Marjorie Wahl and infant brother, William.
