Wisconsin Dells - Daniel (Dan) Reger, age 79, of Wisconsin Dells passed away on August 10, 2026 from glioblastoma. He was born Aug. 6, 1947 to Otto and Lucille (McMahon) Reger. He was the twelfth of 13 children.

Dan graduated from Mineral Point High School in 1965 where he was a member of the inaugural wrestling team. Dan was an Airforce Veteran serving on active duty from 1967 to 1971 and in the Army Reserves for many years.

He married Kathy Balk and they had one son, Gerald. In 1994 he married his soulmate Laura Fitzsimmons Clarke. Dan was dedicated to his family and friends. He was the neighborhood “Energizer Bunny” helping everyone. He could seemingly fix anything. He enjoyed attending the many events of his children and grandchildren as they grew up.

Dan graduated with a Business degree from Upper Iowa University and also earned an Associate Degree in Welding Technology from Milwaukee Area Technical College. Dan worked for GTE and Verizon for 35 years. He loved to hunt, fish and go camping. He enjoyed gardening, especially growing giant kohlrabi. He was a Badger, Packer and Brewer fan. He and his wife loved to travel throughout the United States, to Ireland, Iceland, and to Central and South America. Their 2026 trip to the Galapagos was “the trip of a lifetime”.

Dan is survived by his wife Laura; son Gerald (Cassandra), stepsons Nathan Clarke and Matthew Clarke (Kathryn Hughes); siblings Margaret Hofius, Arlene Riley, Louise Hamlin, Mary Nardi, Glen (Peggy), Joyce Rundle, Victor (Barbara), Richard (Leslie); grandchildren Taelyr, Dominic, Alex and Andi Reger, Lore and Sylvia Clarke, and Simone and Ben Clarke; special friends Kristina and Annelies Beck and Blake Tanner. He is further survived by sisters-in-law Mary V Reger and Kristine (Paul) Tompkins and many nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Bernie, Jimmy, Tom and Bobby and their wives, several sister-in-law's and brother-in-laws and nieces and nephews.
