Obituary

Mineral Point - Clarence Joseph Pittz, age 87, of Mineral Point, WI, passed away on Sunday, August 28, 2022.

Clarence was born on March 19, 1935 to Wilbur and Anna Pittz of Mineral Point, WI. After graduating from Mineral Point HS in 1953, Clarence went on to study at UW Madison and then served his country in the U.S. Army before returning to Mineral Point to work with his father running the family farm. Taking it from a small dairy operation in 1957 to running beef, crops and one of the largest hog facility in the tri-county area.

In 1956 he was lucky enough to meet Bonnie (Pilling), and they wed in 1957, going on to have 5 daughters, Marlene, Connie, Gwen, Penny and Angie.

Clarence was a wonderful husband and father. Family meant more to Clarence than anything else in the world, bragging to many about his "girls". In return, his "girls" loved him passionately and will miss him dearly.

Throughout his life, Clarence was a single engine pilot, 4th degree Grand Knight with Knights of Columbus, Mineral Point School Board member and President of the Iowa County Pork Producers. After retiring, Clarence dedicated many hours to volunteering most recently at the Iowa Co food pantry, Meals on Wheels and could often be found following his passion for golf, driving school bus, playing cards, traveling and exploring the world with the love of his life, Bonnie.

Anyone who knew Clarence, knew that he was the most loving father and husband a family could ask for. Clarence was predeceased by his parents Wilbur and Anna, brother Bill (Donna) Pittz, sister Agnes (Bill) Myers and son-in-law Jerry Johnston and in-laws JoAnn Pittz and Hal Ruth.

Clarence is survived by Bonnie, his loving wife of 65 years, Marlene Kendrick (Jack), Connie McCarville (Mike), Gwen Johnston (Jerry), Penny DeBuhr (Gary), Angie Schmitz (Todd). Grandchildren Nicole, Joseph, Garrett, Jenn, Amber, Bryan, Amanda, Boone & Logan as well as 8 great grandchildren, his siblings; Francis Pittz, Margaret Ruth and Greg (Linda) Pittz; and Richard Mollitor a special family friend.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers contributions be made to Agrace Palliative and Hospice Care, SSM Health or St Mary's Catholic Church in Clarence Pittz's name.
