Dodgeville - Cedric (Rick) J Mumm, age 53, of Dodgeville, passed away on Wednesday, July 4, 2018 at home, with his family by his side, after a long and courageous battle with ALS.

Rick was born October 30, 1964 to Therese Rose (Joyce, Mumm) Evans and Kenneth Mumm. Rick graduated from Dodgeville High School in 1983. Rick was always a people person. From early jobs at Kozelka and Wall and A&W to his 30-year career at UPS, he touched many hearts with his sense of humor and a smile that would light up a room. Every person he met felt a connection with him. He had a passion for his family and having fun. From lawnmower parades to fireworks and his love of NASCAR, his excitement and love of life was contagious. He had a passion for camping, with a special love of spending time with his family at Tom's Campground.

In 2005, he married Elaine (Rowe) Mumm. Giving her the great pleasure of being a mom to his beautiful daughter and with whom he had two more amazing children. His children were his pride and joy. He leaves his family with wonderful memories of pedicures, monster trucks, and camping. Fireworks, cookouts, sprinkler dances, Disney, silly smiles, mouth pops, Transformers, and secret handshakes.

Rick is survived by his wife Elaine (Rowe); his daughters Jordan (20) and Celia (12), and son Aiden (9); his mother Therese (Ronald) Evans; siblings Greg (Lorie) Mumm, Sheila (Kim) Marten and Joyce (David) Baumgarten; his mother and father-in-law Barbara and Jack Rowe, sisters-in-law, Laurie (Rowe) Tess and Jeanne (Rowe) Knickelbine; brothers-in-law, Larry (Laurie) Tess, and Paul (Jeanne) Knickelbine; many loving nieces and nephews, plus great nieces and a great nephew.

He was predeceased by his father, Kenneth Mumm.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 21, 2018 at GRACE LUTHERAN CHURCH in Dodgeville. Rev. Mark Williamson will officiate. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Friday, July 20, 2018 at the GORGEN-McGINLEY & AYERS FUNERAL HOME in Dodgeville and from 10:00 a.m. until time of service on Saturday at the church. On Saturday evening the family is planning a Celebration of Life at Tom's Campground with lantern ceremony at dusk. More details will follow.

Rick's family would like to thank the staffs at University Hospital, Agrace Hospice Care, Upland Hills Hospital and Dr. Gary Grunow for the outstanding care Rick received and compassion given to him during his final days. And a special thanks to the caregivers who helped us along the way and allowed his family to honor his wishes to remain at home during this journey.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial trust has been set up for Rick's children.
