Obituary

Sun City, AZ / Dodgeville – Carole Ann Symons Terrill Jacobs, age 86, of Sun City, AZ, passed away peacefully on July 26, 2021.

She was born on December 18, 1934, the daughter of William D. Symons and Francis Elizabeth Symons (Farwell) in Dodgeville, WI. She married Dean D. Terrill on August 23, 1953. They owned and operated a dairy farm in Mineral Point until 1975. That farm was ranked highly by the Wisconsin Dairy Herd Information Association (DHIA) because of their outstanding management abilities. They were also awarded The Outstanding Young Farmer in 1965. She also played the Organ at the Pleasant View Methodist Church in Mineral Point for many years.

She resided in both Madison, WI and Garland, TX from 1984-1999. In 1999 she moved to Sun City, AZ. That is where she met and married John Jacobs. They were married on September 14, 2002. Together they were active members with the American Legion Post until John's passing on June, 21, 2006. They also owned several homes that they "flipped" until their last house where she resided until her passing. She loved living on a golf course and looking out on the greens every day.

Carole was a member of the American Legion, Post 62, Peoria; Moose Lodge, #2243, Peoria, AZ and the Elks Lodge, #2259, Sun City, AZ. Carole volunteered many years at the American Legion working twice a week being a Bingo Runner. She loved spending time with family and friends, travelling to Puerto Penasco (Rocky Point), Mexico; Laughlin, NV to gamble, and "having her medicine" (glass of wine) with her friends at the Moose or Legion. She always loved listening to music.

Carole is survived by her children: Mark Terrill of Peoria, AZ; Marie (Jim) Coon of Chandler, AZ; Tami (Brad) Sailing of Madison, WI. Grandchildren: Megan Coon (Jake Beland); Madison, WI; Katrina Coon Berhow (Matthew) of Phoenix, AZ; Dr. Kari Terrill of Chicago, IL; Kirsten Terrill McCann (Michael), West Bend, WI; Brynn Sailing and Brady Sailing of Madison, WI. 1 great grandchild: Cooper McCann; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends from all over the country.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her two sons Gregory Alan and Todd Alan. Siblings: Ralph Symons; Grace and Mansfield McConnell; Jean Bray; Homer and Thelma Symons.

A Celebration of Life will be held 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 9, 2021 at the GORGEN-McGINLEY & AYERS FUNERAL HOME in Dodgeville, WI. Private family inurnment will be held in East Side Cemetery.
