Dodgeville – Carol Joy Skala, age 64, of Dodgeville, died on Tuesday, December 8, 2020 at her home, after a courageous 4 year battle with cancer.
She was born on August 20, 1956 in Dodgeville, a daughter of the late Wendell and Virginia (Harker) Brown. She graduated from Iowa Grant High School in 1974. On April 29, 1977, she married the love of her life, Ron Skala.
Carol worked as a business analyst for Lands' End for 26 years and then Alliant Energy for the last 14 years. She loved her family with everything she had. She loved riding on the Harley, traveling (especially whale watching) and animals had a big place in her heart. She was also an avid Wisconsin Badger Hockey and Green Bay Packers fan.
Carol is survived by her husband Ron; her daughter Jody (Jason) Thomas; her fur babies Maggie and Leo; her siblings Nancy Womack, Ed Brown, Beverly (Durand) Englund and Wendy (Jerry) Kopp; her sister-in-law Joan (Roger) Alton; many nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her son RJ, her parents Wendell and Virginia Brown, her mother and father-in-law Gertrude and Lou Skala, her sister-in-law Vicki Brown, her nephew Tim Brown and her sister-in-law Jeannie Gottschall.
Private family services will be held.
A Public Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital or Agrace Hospice.
