Betty J. Dougherty, age 90, of Ridgeway, passed away on Friday, May 27, 2016 at Bloomfield Healthcare and Rehab Center in Dodgeville.

Elizabeth (Betty) Jane was born January 7, 1926 in the Township of Perry, Mt. Horeb, WI to Lawrence and Stella (Sutter) Keller. Betty was united in marriage to DuWayne Dougherty on August 8, 1944 at St. Andrews Catholic Church, Verona.

In 1997 Betty retired as Housekeeping Supervisor for Greenway Manor Nursing Home, Spring Green, WI. She enjoyed spending time with her family, visiting with her friends, and reading.

She is survived by seven children: Rick (Judy) Dougherty of Rockford, IL, Eileen (Tom) Nickels of Platteville, WI, Connie (Don) Gronemus of Cuba City, WI, Greg Dougherty of Westport, CA, Cindy (Ray) Hach of LaCrosse, WI, Patty Dougherty of Viroqua, WI and Julie Anderson of Waunakee, WI. plus 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters Rosemary (Joe) Vargas and Mary (Rollie) Buechner, brothers Jim Keller and Pete (Linda) Keller, sister-in-law Shirley Keller, in-laws Katie (Bob) Olson and many nieces and nephews.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in February 2015, her sisters Dolores (Harold) Laufenberg, Loretta (Butch) Statz, brothers Wallace Keller, Raymond Keller and Paul Keller, in-laws Darlene (Chester) Johnson, Arlene (Ralph) Oimoen, Jean Margaret (Jim) Cretney and Bill (Karen) Dougherty.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 1, 2016 at ST. BRIDGET'S CATHOLIC CHURCH in Ridgeway. Burial will be held in St. Bridget's Cemetery. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. until time of Mass on Wednesday at the church.
