Dodgeville - Bernice Jane (Flora) Fieldhouse, "Lolly", age 90, of Dodgeville, passed away on Sunday, January 6, 2013 at Sienna Crest Assisted Living Facility in Dodgeville, Wis., of congestive heart failure.

Bernice was born to Elmer and Hazel (Hutchins) Flora of rural Dodgeville on August 17, 1922, and graduated from Dodgeville High School in 1940. In August 1945, she married her sweetheart James C. Fieldhouse after he returned from serving in the South Pacific during World War II. Jim and Bernice made their home on the east side of Madison and had two children, John (Mary) Fieldhouse, now of Brooksville, Florida, and Jean (Thomas) Weinbrenner of Dodgeville. They moved back to Dodgeville in the late 1950s and resided on Level Street for more than 40 years. Bernice was a member of the United Church of Christ. She worked at Rennebohm's, General Telephone, and the Dodgeville Middle School over her life.

In addition to her children, Bernice is survived by grandchildren Wayne (Tammy) Fieldhouse of Tampa, Florida, and their children Shawn, Joshua and Tiffany; Sheila Amick of Brooksville, Florida, and her children Heather and Kyle; and Barbara Weinbrenner of Dodgeville and her son Joshua. She is further survived by her brother-in-law Roger Fieldhouse, sister-in-law Lynn Fieldhouse, and many beloved nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Bernice was preceded in death by her husband, Jim, in 2004; her parents; brothers Stanley and Robert "Bud" Flora, and Bud's wife, Rosella "Delly"; sister Millie (Bernie) Severson; brother-in-law Homer Fieldhouse, and several special friends, many of whom she had kept in contact with since childhood.

Bernice made friends wherever she went. She enjoyed visiting with people, watching the Packers, playing cards, and reading. Bernice was a natural horsewoman at an early age and loved to reminisce about her childhood pony, Molly. She was also an accomplished cook who regularly made Cornish favorites like saffron bread and pasty for her family.

In honoring Bernice's wishes, a graveside service will be held at a later date where her ashes will be inurned with Jim's at East Side Cemetery in Dodgeville. The Gorgen-McGinley & Ayers Funeral Home of Dodgeville is serving the family.
