Mineral Point - Bernard N. "Bernie" Kieffer, age 100, of Mineral Point passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 8, 2018 at Sienna Crest in Dodgeville following a short battle with cancer.

He was born in the family farm house in rural Mineral Point on August 24, 1917 the son of Albert and Margaret (Lawinger) Kieffer. He married Josephine Berg on April 29, 1943 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Mineral Point, she preceded him in death on January 2, 1997. Bernie was involved in farming until he was 90 years old. He also was avid in motorcycles, ATV's , cars, and antique tractors. He was a member of St. Mary & Paul's Catholic Church in Mineral Point.

Bernie is survived by his 2 sons; Jerry (Sue) Kieffer of Deforest and Thomas Kieffer of Mineral Point; a granddaughter Erica (Aaron) Raynoha of Monona; and several relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Josephine, and his brothers Robert and Harold Kieffer.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, July 13, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the GORGEN FUNERAL HOME in Mineral Point. Fr. David Flanagan will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at the GORGEN FUNERAL HOME.
