Mineral Point / Dodgeville – Barbara J. Reed, age 83, of Dodgeville, formerly of Mineral Point, passed away on Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at the home of her daughter Joanne, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on February 26, 1938 in Richland County, Wisconsin, a daughter of the late John and Hilda (Long) Cockroft. She graduated from Lone Rock High School in 1956. On July 10, 1957, she married Ralph E. Reed in Lone Rock. He preceded her in death on March 19, 1998. They raised six children and her family was her life. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Barb worked in daycare and as a teacher's aide for the Mineral Point School District. She loved quilting and cross stitching. She was an avid Chicago Cubs fan and loved the Green Bay Packers and never missed a game.

Barb is survived by her children Ralph (Deb) Reed, Jr., Joanne (Tom) Joestgen, Terry Aurit, Michelle (Richard) Gilbertson, Lisa (Joe) Weier, Brenda (Jeff) Basting; 19 grandchildren Laura, Michael, Jeremy, Kristy, Matt, Becca, Alex, Adam, Andrew, Amy, LeAnn, Megan, Brooke, Kevin, Jake, Molly, Carey, Jenna and Ben; 22 great grandchildren with 2 on the way; her sister Alice Cockroft; her brother Jack (Karen) Cockroft; her brother-in-law Ron (Lynette) Reed; many nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband Ralph, her parents and her great granddaughter Kendall.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 26, 2021 at the GORGEN-McGINLEY & AYERS FUNERAL HOME in Dodgeville. Burial will be held in Otter Creek Cemetery. Friends may call from 12:00 p.m. (noon) until 1:50 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
