Obituary

Dodgeville – Arthur John Hanson, Jr. of Dodgeville passed away on Tuesday October 4, 2022 – he was 72. Born in Berwyn, IL on June 24, 1950 and was raised in Northbrook, IL. He attended Loyola Academy and went on to work for UPS in Illinois before relocating to Dodgeville in 1979 to start a business. As a Master Plumber and Culligan Man, Art spent 39 years serving the area community. He contributed to many causes over the years and couldn't go anywhere without running into a customer or striking up a conversation with someone.

He was his family's Clark W. Griswold with a heart the size of Cousin Eddie's infamous RV. Art was a generous husband and father taking great pride in his family. Attending concerts, events, games or working on projects he was always at home surrounded by family and friends.

Art loved cars and was well-known for his Model A which was frequently in parades, his trademark Lincoln Town Cars, various vintages of Corvettes and most recently a 1965 Ford F-100 that he completed working together with his son, Clint. He was an active member of Mad City Vettes and helped raise money for charities.

Those closest to Art knew him to look for opportunities to make those around him smile and laugh with a witty remark or a well-timed joke. His jovial demeanor left a lasting impact on those who met him – often making friends everywhere he went.

Art passed away surrounded by his adoring wife, Denise and his children at home. He is sorely missed by those that love him and the world is diminished without him in it.

Art is survived by his wife Denise, children Clint (Jen), Lauren, Erin (Josh), Arthur III, grandchildren Alexis (fiancé Griffin), Layla, Corbin, Justin and great grandchild Weston.
