Mineral Point - Arlene W "Wynona" Nelson, age 93 of Mineral Point, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 25, 2017, at Bloomfield Manor after a brief illness.

She was born on April 26, 1924, the daughter of Aldro and Alvina Reed. She attended various country school houses in the Pine Knob/Highland area. As a young woman she assisted various families with many household tasks. She married the love of her life, Abraham Sylvester Nelson, on September 1, 1942 at the Lutheran Parsonage in Dodgeville and together they made Mineral Point their home. Wynona spent many years caring for others children and loving them like her own. She enjoyed reading, jigsaw puzzles, attending Hope Lutheran Church, camping with Abe, and above all spending time with family and friends.

She is survived by four children, Karen (Harold) Ritter of Delavan, Arlene (Russell) Symons of Dodgeville, Carol Dellis of Goldthwaite, TX, Alan (Vicky) Nelson of Mineral Point; six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, one great-great grandson; a sister Lorraine Cutler of Mineral Point, a brother, Ron (Lynette) Reed of Belleville, a sister-in-law Barb Reed of Mineral Point; numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by Abe on April 11, 2004; her son-in-law, Billy-Bob Dellis; her brother, Ralph Reed; and her sister, Janet Reed.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 29, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the HOPE LUTHERAN CHURCH in Mineral Point. Pastor Rich McLeer will officiate. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Thursday, December 28, 2017 from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the GORGEN FUNERAL HOME in Mineral Point and on Friday from 10:00 until 10:50 a.m. at the church.

The family would like to thank CrestRidge Assisted Living, Agrace Hospice, and especially the staff at Bloomfield Manor Nursing Home for their loving care of Wynona and their overwhelming compassion.
