Mineral Point - Ann Pilling Tibbits, age 104, passed away on Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at Sienna Meadows in Mineral Point. She was born on November 19, 1912 in Barreltown, Iowa County WI, the daughter of Peter and Caroline (Jungers) Kieffer. She was the second child in a family of ten children.
Ann married Henry Pilling in January of 1934. Together they had eleven children. Henry died in July of 1962. She later married Maynard Tibbits.
Ann was a strong woman and a role model for hard work. She loved to cook and bake and her wonderful saffron buns were enjoyed by many. Ann was known to have a beautiful flower garden and a bouquet on her table at all times.
Ann is survived by children, Carole Cassidy; Joseph Pilling; Harry (Chris) Pilling; Bonnie (Clarence) Pittz; Robert (Marcia) Pilling; William (Jean) Pilling; Glen (Diane) Pilling and Tom (Verna) Pilling. Three children pre-deceased her: Patricia, Douglas and Kaye Davis and three step-children: Joan Swirczynski, Merle Pilling and Mary Ellen Ross. She is further survived by 43 grandchildren; 62 great grandchildren and 17 great, great grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 6, 2017 at Ss. MARY & PAUL CATHOLIC CHURCH in Mineral Point. Father Jim Leeser will officiate. Burial will be held in St. Mary's Cemetery. Friends may call from 3:00 – 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 5 at the GORGEN FUNERAL HOME, Mineral Point and from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. on Monday at the church.
