Highland / Evansville - Angeline C. Leonard, age 91, of Highland/Evansville, passed away on Saturday, March 31, 2018, at the Evansville Manor in Evansville, Wisconsin, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in the Town of Edgeley, North Dakota, on October 21, 1926, the daughter of Joseph and Sophie Nihles. She graduated from Montfort High School in 1944. She married Francis E. Leonard at St. Bridget's Catholic Church in Ridgeway, Wisconsin, on June 6, 1950. She was a homemaker for many years and later worked for the University of Wisconsin Hospital in Madison in the Environmental Services Department. She was a member of St. Anthony's/St. Philip's Church in Highland. She enjoyed traveling, sewing, quilting, tatting, embroidery, doing crossword puzzles, and visiting with family and friends.
She is survived by her eleven children: Rosemary (Roger) Schrader of Milton, James Leonard of Highland, David Leonard (Susan Miess) of Avoca, Char (Mike) Van Keuren of Waunakee, Thomas (Marina) Leonard of Tbilisi, Georgia, Mark (Tracey) Leonard of Verona, Donna (Steve) Washa of McFarland, Susan (Craig) Stamm of Evansville, Karey (Ron) Leonard-Berg of Madison, Edward Leonard (Cindy) of Hollandale, and Jeff (Brenda) Leonard of Linden; 20 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; one brother-in-law, John Leonard, one sister-in-law, Agnes Leonard, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Leonard; her parents, Joseph and Sophie Nihles; father- and mother-in-law, Edward and Amelia Leonard; a brother, Clifford Nihles; two brothers-in-law, Joseph Leonard and Paul Leonard, four sisters-in-law, Rosella Nihles, Jane Leonard, Lillian Leonard, and Ellen Leonard; and good friend, Bonnie Kaiser.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, April 5, 2018 at Ss. ANTHONY & PHILIP CATHOLIC CHURCH in Highland. Fr. Jim Murphy will officiate. Burial will be held in St. Patrick's Cemetery In Hollandale. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. until time of Mass on Thursday at the church.
We consider Mom's gentle, kind manner as a gift to us as a family and an inspiration to everyone who knew her.
