Obituary

Dodgeville / Hollandale - Alona Ruth (Pederson) Proctor, 84, of Dodgeville/Hollandale, passed away on Saturday, July 30, 2016 from complications following surgery. She was born to Herman & Leona (Hildreth) Pederson in Darlington on August 23, 1931. Alona's father passed away when she was only 7 years old. Her mother, Leona, along with the support of her Grandparents and Uncle Tom Hildreth raised her to be the wonderful lady she became.

Alona was a proud graduate of Mineral Point High School class of 1949 and looked forward to their reunions. She married Ralph Proctor on August 26, 1950 at the First United Methodist Church in Mineral Point. They were married just shy of 66 years. Being an only child Alona wanted a large family and together they were blessed with 10 children. Alona loved the farm life, working beside her husband and children on the farm they have owned for over 50 years and still continue to live on. She loved feeding the calves, milking the cows, having a vegetable garden and growing beautiful flowers. She loved spending time with her family and friends, especially the family gatherings at the farm and attending her children's and grandchildren's numerous activities. She always had something baked and ready for whenever someone would happen to stop by. She also enjoyed having lunch at the Belmont Senior Center, playing cards, bowling, watching Brewer baseball and Badger Basketball games, attending Sunday church and taking her daily walk to the bridge and back.

Following raising her family and selling the cows Alona worked at Land's End and also volunteered her time at Upland Hills Health where she met many good friends. She was a member of the Bethel United Methodist Church and Happy Hollow Homemaker Club.
