Edmund – Allen "Al" James McVay of Edmund, WI, passed away unexpectedly on August 30, 2017.
Al was born to Albert McVay and Patricia (McCluskey) Kilkelly on October 22, 1954 in Dodgeville, WI. Al was a great friend to many and was the kind of guy always ready to help if needed. One of his favorite things to do was hanging out with friends and family. He was also an avid fisherman, even with those ones that still managed to get away, no matter how hard he tried to keep them. Come rain or shine, you could usually find him in his boat, down by the river fishing, trying to catch the "Big One" like most fishermen do.
Al was a free spirit who loved taking his bike out and enjoying the countryside. He traveled many miles, the man and his Harley, becoming one, enjoying the freedom that such a ride gives, that only a biker can appreciate, meeting many people along the way that he was proud to call friends.
A special guy with a big heart, he cherished his grandchildren and great grandchildren. And his 4 legged furry friends too as he has always been an animal lover. Ruby, Pepe and Gray will really miss him as will we all. And we can truly say, you have taken pieces of all our hearts with you as our lives will never be the same without you.
Allen, you can now truly ride like the wind, wild and free!
Allen is survived by his mother, Patricia (Ott) Kilkelly; his daughter Tracy (Josh) Green; his son Jeremy (Becky) McVay; his stepson Jason Lawinger; his brothers and sisters, Michael (Susan) McVay, Sr., Jan (Dennis) Jansen, Tina (Norman) Hamilton, Mark (Kristi) McVay; 5 grandchildren, Kristy (Jared) Ziebarth, Scott Peterson, Surie Davis, Finn Fitzsimmons, Aayden Kreul; 3 great grandchildren Kirra, Aavi and Emeree Ziebarth; as well many nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his father, Albert, his son Cody Richards, maternal grandparents, PJ and Mary McCluskey, and paternal grandparents, Albert McVay, Sr. and Elsie Womack.
