Dodgeville - Alan Wayne Meckley, age 43, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, March 21, 2021, due to an ATV accident.

As a lifelong resident of Dodgeville, WI, Alan was born on April 22, 1977 to William and Gynith Meckley. He graduated from Dodgeville High School in 1995. In 2012, Alan met and dated the love of his life, Ashley Groom and they were married on June 2, 2018.

Alan was employed at Maple Leaf in Verona, WI as a landscaper, lawn care maintenance and snow removal person. Alan enjoyed life and spending time with family and friends. He loved his family, his dog Gunner, going fishing, cruising, having campfires (all we had to do was hint at a fire and he'd get a good one going) and taking family vacations. On his off time, he loved to go visit friends and hang out to talk about old times and tell jokes. Alan was the most outspoken, friendly person and with his unique smile and laugh, he could light up any room. He will never be forgotten.

Alan and I were a matched set. We both had the same mannerisms. He was my life, my love, and my world. He was my happy.

You could always count on Alan to say something that would make you laugh. Alan loved sitting in his car listening to his music playing. He loved his sweets, saying he would have just one and then he couldn't stop.

He is survived by his loving wife, Ashley (Groom) Meckley, his son, Douglas Groom, mother, Gynith (Christianson) Meckley (Tim), in laws, Mark and Laurie Groom, brother, William L Meckley (Heather), brother, Ian White, sister, Joleen Meckley (Leo),sister in law, Amanda Scott-Groom (Michael), brother in law, Adam (Kylara) Groom, niece, Lyndsey Meckley, nephews, Mitchel Unbehaun, Billy Deane Meckley, Michael Scott-Groom JR, and Axel Groom, and many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and many best friends, each special to him in their own way, all too many to name.

Alan is preceded in death by his Father, William W. Meckley, Grand Parents (Maternal) Lloyd and Marie Christianson, (Paternal) William J. and Viola Meckley, Infant Sister, Jennifer Meckley, Infant Daughter, Hope Ann Meckley.

A Public Visitation will be held on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at the GORGEN-McGINLEY & AYERS FUNERAL HOME in Dodgeville.

A Family Memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 27, 2021 at the GORGEN-McGINLEY & AYERS FUNERAL HOME in Dodgeville. Burial will be in Eastside Cemetery in Dodgeville.

The Memorial Service will be live-streamed thru the Gorgen Funeral Services Facebook Page starting at 1:00 p.m.
