Margery L. DeMuth

Dodgeville – Margery Loraine (Townsend) DeMuth, age 93, of Dodgeville, passed away on Saturday, June 4, 2022 at Crest Ridge Assisted Living Center. Marge was born on July 31, 1928 in Dodgeville, WI, the daughter of Floyd and Amy (Cook) Townsend. She is a graduate of Dodgeville High School in 1946. After working in Dodgeville and Madison, Marge was united in marriage to E. Daniel DeMuth on September 30, 1950 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Mineral Point, WI. Together they farmed in the Barreltown area and later ran a local business in Barneveld before settling in Dodgeville in 1959 where Dan managed Iowa County DHIA. Marge and Dan were long time members of St. Joseph’s Church in Dodgeville. Marge enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, music, and old westerns. Marge’s favorite thing was to spend time with friends and family, especially her six children, fourteen grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. Marge is survived by her children Tom (Molly) DeMuth of Dodgeville, Steve DeMuth of Dodgeville, Vicki (Tim) Teska of Dane, Mary Ann (Kevin) Gustafson of Chetek, John (Mary) DeMuth of Dodgeville and Mark (Kathie) DeMuth of Green Bay; her grandchildren Matt DeMuth, Joe (Meghan) Teska, Chris (Jody) DeMuth, Deborah Teska, Rebecca (Tim Cole), Shannon DeMuth, Josh DeMuth, Joanna Gustafson, Adam Gustafson, Rachel (Levi Zumbrunnen), Tony (Jesse) DeMuth, Daniel (Deana) DeMuth, Paul DeMuth and Noah DeMuth; her great-grandchildren, Danielle, Caden, Cameron, Reagan, Quinn, Reese, Jayden, Taylor, Hannah, Amy, Adalynn, and Carter. Marge is preceded in death by her husband Dan, her parents and 9 siblings. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 9, 2022 at ST. JOSEPH’S CATHOLIC CHURCH in Dodgeville, with visitation from 9:30 a.m. until 10:50 a.m. at the church. Father Bill Van Wagner will officiate with burial in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
