Lucille C. Strickfaden

June 3, 1922 - July 8, 2018

Dodgeville - Lucille Caroline (LaRosh) Strickfaden, age 96, of Dodgeville, WI, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, July 8, 2018 at her home after a brief illness. She was born in Pekin, Illinois on June 3rd, 1922, to Frederick and Emma (Espenschied) LaRosh. She married Roy Strickfaden on December 30th, 1945, and together they had three children, Dale (Carla) Strickfaden, Linda (Larry) Berg, and Duane (Sue) Strickfaden. They farmed for many years in Illinois, and then in 1962 they decided to move their family of five to a farm just outside of Highland, WI, where they farmed until moving to Dodgeville in 1986. Lucille worked hard side by side with her husband for many years on the farm, as well as working at the Cobb Canning Factory and Bloomfield Manor. She always had a heart for others, and if you ever stopped in for a visit, you were sure to be offered a bite to eat, often leaving with something in your hands, either her delicious baked goods or some of the best pink applesauce you’ve ever tasted! Her memory was amazing, and she could tell you the birth dates of all of her family and friends, and she never forgot to call us after any major event or appointment to ask how things went and how we were doing. Our hearts are heavy as we mourn this tremendous loss, but we rejoice that she is now walking on streets of gold, reunited with her loved ones. Lucille is survived by her three children and their spouses, 8 grandchildren: Kim (Peter) Wedig, Kevin Strickfaden, Kandi (Matt) Wilson, Kurtis (Kelly Barrette) Strickfaden, Keith Strickfaden, Kyle (Sara) Strickfaden, Tyler (Stacie) Strickfaden, Heather (Phillip) Hansen, 17 great-grandchildren, as well as a sister-in-law, Lois Strickfaden, and many nieces, nephews & cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy; her parents; brothers Clifford, Rollo and Clyde, and sisters Velma, Irene and Beulah. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 13, 2018 at the EDMUND EVANGELICAL FREE CHURCH, 2537 US Hwy. 18, Edmund, WI, with Pastor Doug Tremelling & Pastor Tyler Strickfaden presiding. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday at GORGEN-MCGINLEY & AYERS FUNERAL HOME in Dodgeville and from 10:00 a.m. until time of services on Friday at the church. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Cobb, WI, followed by a luncheon at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Edmund Evangelical Free Church, PO Box 4, Edmund, WI, 53535.
