Diane Lynne Alton

Dodgeville - Diane Lynne Alton, age 81, of Dodgeville passed away on Wednesday, January 19, 2022. She was born on June 5, 1940 to Reuben G. and Myrtle I. (Smith) Alton in Dodgeville, WI. Diane attended Lincoln Country School # 8. Diane was blessed to have a mother who taught her to live independently and the skills to work with her disability. She moved to Madison and worked for 30 plus years at the VA Hospital in the Laundry Department. Diane retired in 2011 and moved back to Iowa County to be closer to her family. Diane is survived by her sister, Pat Powell; her brothers Roger (Joanne) Alton and Richard (Darlene) Alton; her special nephews and nieces Steve (Janie) Powell, Scott Powell, Sandy Powell-Trollop, Jonathan (Kacie) Alton, Stephanie (Tony) Russo, Rod (Rhonda) Alton and Sherry (Bill) McKenzie. In addition, she had seventeen great nephews and nieces. She was proceeded in death by her father, Reuben in 1987, her mother, Myrtle in 1998, her brother-in-law Donald Powell. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Sienna Crest staff and residents who provided a second family to Diane for the past many years! Diane brought so much joy to the family and will be greatly missed. We are blessed with many fond memories that will be a part of us forever. A Celebration Of Life will be held on Sunday, June 5, 2022 at 2:00 PM at the First United Methodist Church in Mineral Point. Pastor Chris Droste will officiate. A visitation will be from 1:00 - 1:50 PM at the church. Inurnment will be in Graceland Cemetery in Mineral Point. In Lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Sienna Crest, First United Methodist Church or the Special Olympics.
