Barbara A. Erickson

Dodgeville - Barbara A. "Barb" (Paull) Erickson, age 80, of Dodgeville passed away on Sunday, August 31, 2014 at Upland Hills Health Rehab Center in Dodgeville. She was born on December 25, 1933 at the General Hospital in Dodgeville, the daughter of Earl and Anne (Fitzsimons) Paull. She graduated from Ridgeway High School in 1952. Barb married her sweetheart Marvin Erickson on July 18, 1953. Marvin and Barb raised their family on a farm east of Dodgeville for 37 years. Barb worked on the farm but she worked at many other things too. She sold Avon and Tupperware for many years. She was also employed by the Stella Cheese Company and by Lands' End for 25 years. She was a member of the Ridgeway Grace Methodist Church in Ridgeway. Barb enjoyed so many things in life. She loved playing cards, traveling, making and serving her fabulous pasty to guests at her home, getting together with friends and family and going on car rides that ended with an ice cream cone. Barb is survived by her four children, Mark (Jane) Erickson, Cindy (Roy) March, Lynn Erickson all of Dodgeville and Bruce (Rose) Erickson of Linden; seven grandchildren, Julie (Tim) Tomas of Dodgeville, Chassidy (Chad) Grindle of Windsor, Justin (Megan) Moyer of Linden, Sharon Erickson (Mike Degenhardt) of Muscoda, Todd March of Jonesdale, Kevin and Steven March of Dodgeville and seven great-grandchildren Erick, Marcus and Ann Marie Tomas, Ava Grindle, Lydia, Aubrey and Isabelle Moyer; her only brother, Wayne Paull and sister-in-law Shirley Erickson both of Ridgeway. Barb was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Marvin, her only sister Genane Wagner; two sisters-in-law, Lucille Olson and Elvira Paull; three brothers-in-law, Bill Wagner, Harvey Olson and Phillip Erickson; and great-grandson Brantley Degenhardt. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 4, 2104 at the GORGEN-McGINLEY & AYERS FUNERAL HOME in Dodgeville. Rev. Rom A. Pegram and Rev. Leroy Strutt will officiate. Burial will be in East Side Cemetery in Dodgeville. Friends called from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday and from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the services on Thursday at the funeral home. The family would like to give special thanks to Upland Hills Health and the Rehab Center for their loving care of Barb. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made to the Grace United Methodist Church of Ridgeway for their new entrance renovation.
