Theobald, Gladys B.
April 29, 1910 - July 18, 2008

Barneveld - Gladys B. Theobald, age 98, of Barneveld, passed away on Friday, July 18, 2008 at Upland Hills Nursing & Rehab Center in Dodgeville. She was born on April 29, 1910 in Argyle, Wisconsin, the daughter of J.O. and Caroline (Peterson) Olson. She graduated from Hollandale High School and on December 15, 1928, she married Max Theobald at the groom’s home. He preceded her in death on October 21, 1987. Gladys was a member of Middlebury Methodist Church, Middlebury Ladies Aid, Rebekah Lodge, the Adamsville Mother’s Club and served as treasurer of the Adamsville School.

Gladys is survived by her children, Harvey (Audrey) Theobald, of Barneveld, Maxine Stratman, of Barneveld, Chuck (Aletha) Theobald, of Black Earth; 8 grandchildren, Debra (Curt) DeSmet, Bill Theobald, Diane (Mike) Berg, Denise Whitford, Julie (Hans Wampfler) Stratman, Jodie (Bill) Mabin, Kris (Shawn) Drager, Jason (Angela) Theobald; 21 great grandchildren, Cory (Jamie) DeSmet, Aaron (Tara) DeSmet, Travis (fiance, Andrea) DeSmet, Theron and Trevor Theobald, Tiffany (Andy) Bethke, Amanda, Hailey, Kelsey, and Taylor Berg, Molly and Hannah Whitford, Justin, Jesse, Jordan, Samantha and Jevin Mabin, Ryan, Reese and Lauryn Drager, Trey Theobald; 2 great-great grandchildren, Kaden and Maddie DeSmet; her special friend, Mary Rosenthal, of Barneveld; many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, 4 brothers, Gilman, Vernus, Orrine and Julian Olson, and 5 sisters, Lela Hughes, WIlma Skaife, Avis Olson, Viola Hegland and Ruth Olson.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 22, 2008 at MIDDLEBURY CHURCH (County Road H, Brigham Township, South of Barneveld). Rev. Mark Gruner will officiate. Burial will be held in Middlebury Cemetery. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until time of services on Tuesday at the church.

The family would like to thank Dr. Peter Mullin, the staff at Upland Hills Nursing and Rehab Center and the staff at Upland Hills Hospice for their wonderful care during Gladys’s stay.
