Rewey - Robert W. “Bob” Quinlan, age 63, of Rewey, passed away on Monday, July 21, 2008 at his home, after a courageous battle with melanoma. Bob was born on October 19, 1944 in Hazel Green, the son of Clarence and Cecelia (Runde) Quinlan. He attended Milltown school and farmed until he was drafted into the U.S. Army. He ran the Quinlan Café in Livingston and was employed at Lands’ End in Dodgeville for the past 18 years. Bob enjoyed family, friends, the woods, gardening, cooking, telling jokes, cribbage, the jumble word and his dog, Sparky.
Bob is survived by his son, Timothy (Kristin) Quinlan, of Renfrew, Pennsylvania and their daughters, Hannah and Kate; his son, Jason Quinlan, of Tucson, Arizona; his special friend of 11 years, Donna Tallard; his two brothers, Myron Quinlan, of Hazel Green and Clarence (Joyce) Quinlan, Jr., of Black Earth; his three sisters, Pauline Morrill, of Marion, Iowa, Donna (Bill) Weigman, of Hazel Green, and Doris (Thomas) Oster, of East Dubuque; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Evelyn Bennett and brother-in-law, James Morrill.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 26, 2008 at the GORGEN-McGINLEY & AYERS FUNERAL HOME in Dodgeville. Rev. Steven Kottke will officiate. Military Rites will be accorded by the Dodgeville Veterans. Inurnment will be held in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery in Hazel Green at 3:30 p.m on Saturday. Friends may call from 9:30 a.m. until time of services on Saturday at the funeral home.
