Dodgeville / Ithaca - Wayne H. Phelps, of Dodgeville, died on Saturday, June 21, 2008 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison, as a result of complications from a fall. He was born to Joseph Phelps and Lucille Klucheski, of Chicago, Illinois, and later adopted by Mike and Agnes Nee, of Ithaca, Wisconsin. Wayne married Rosemary Flannery at St. Joseph’s Church in Argyle, Wisconsin.
He is survived by his wife, Rosemary; his six children, Greg (Pam), of Madison, Gary (Sharon), of Burnsville, Minnesota, Tom (Jean), of Verona, Brian, of Dodgeville, Mark (Christy), of Germantown, Tennessee, and Heidi (Dan) Mulrooney, of Fennimore; eight grandchildren, Sarah (Andy Stilp), Rachel, Jennifer, Tyler, Laura, Mary Kathryn, Ryan and Noah; his sister, Virginia (Ed) Laws, of Allegan, Michigan; his sisters-in-law, Betty Jane (Bob) Cullen, Helen (Bob) Regan, Marilyn Flannery, Janice Flannery, Teresa (Gary) Waage, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 25, 2008 at ST. JOSEPH’S CATHOLIC CHURCH in Dodgeville. Father David Flanagan will officiate. Burial will be held in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the GORGEN-McGINLEY & AYERS FUNERAL HOME in Dodgeville.
