Olmstead, Wanda M.
d. January 25, 2012
Madison - Wanda Mae Olmstead died at home, of natural causes, on January 25, 2012. Wanda lived a very colorful and full life, on her terms, and received support from hundreds of individuals and many organizations in her 83 years. If you provided support to her, thank you. If you were lucky, you might have met her and chatted with her at the Farmer’s Market, or in the old days at Rennies, Kresge’s or McDonald’s on the Square, at a bingo game, Lane’s Bakery, or any of the other places around Madison where Wanda loved to go. Over the years, Wanda rescued and cared for many cats, and provided a loving home for them.
She is survived by her many friends, several cousins, and her cat, Bonnie.
A Memorial Service will be held at ST. DENNIS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 505 Dempsey Rd, Madison, at 12:00 P.M. (noon) on Tuesday, January 31. 2012. A graveside service will be held Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Paul’s Cemetery in Mineral Point, near her mother’s grave.
Wanda was a generous woman who loved cats and carnations. Adopt a cat, buy yourself a flower, or make a donation to the Humane Society in memory of Wanda. Special thanks to Ann Marie for carrying on Wanda’s tradition and adopting Bonnie.
