WISCONSIN RAPIDS/ MINERAL POINT - Mildred I. Noble, age 86, of Wisconsin Rapids, and formerly of Mineral Point, passed away on Friday, May 23, 2008, at Strawberry Lane Medical Center in Wisconsin Rapids. She was born on October 11, 1921, in Mineral Point, the daughter of Wallis and Bertha (Paynter) Noble. She graduated from Mineral Point High School and pursued a nursing career. She married Homer F. Noble on May 12, 1944, in Mineral Point, and he preceded her in death on April 30, 1992. She was a member of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, and loved crocheting.
Mildred is survived by three sons, William (Renee) Noble of Montclaire, Calif., Charles (Val) Noble of Las Vegas, Nev., and Randall (Gerrie) Noble of Wisconsin Rapids; two special grandchildren, Timothy (Jamie) Noble of Wisconsin Rapids, and Karie Ann Noble of California; and many other grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a sister, Mary (Jerrold) Brown of Mosinee; a brother, Robert (Louise) Noble of Pewaukee; two sisters-in-law, Virginia and Dorothy Noble, both of Mineral Point; and many nieces, nephews and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a sister, Jane Noble; and two brothers, Charles and Albert Noble.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday May 28, 2008, at 1 p.m. at the CONGREGATIONAL UNITED CHURCH OF CHRIST in Mineral Point. The Rev. Beryle Melcher will officiate. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery at a later date. Friends may call on Wednesday from 11 a.m. until time of service at the church.
