Mineral Point - Paul W. Laverty, age 70 of Mineral Point passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 15, 2010 surrounded by his family at Upland Hills Nursing & Rehab Center in Dodgeville. He was born in Dodgeville on September 14, 1939 the son of William and Genevieve (McGraw) Laverty. He graduated from Mineral Point High School in 1957. He attended U.W. Short Course in Madison. Paul worked for a year at Northern Pump Farms in McHenry, IL before moving back to Mineral Point happily spending the rest of his life working the family farm.
Paul is survived by two brothers; Don (Penny) Laverty of Beaver Dam and Gary (Joyce) Laverty of Janesville, a sister Mary Margaret (Norman) James of Lena, IL; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, and infant twin nephews Daniel and Donald James.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, May 19, 2010 at 10:30 am at Ss. MARY & PAUL CATHOLIC CHURCH in Mineral Point. Fr. James Hinnen will officiate. Burial will be held in St. Paul’s Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call on Tuesday, May 18, 2010 from 4:00 until 7:00 pm at the GORGEN FUNERAL HOME in Mineral Point and on Wednesday from 9:30 am until time of service at the church.
