Barneveld - Rose C. Walczak - Kec, age 99, of Barneveld, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 23, 2010 at her home with her loving children at her side. She was born on May 7, 1910 in McHenry, IL to John and Anna (Distler) Grasser. On September 15, 1932, she was married to Anthony Walczak. He passed away on March 26, 1964; she later was married to Louis Kec. He passed away in October of 1989.
Rose is survived by her daughter, Jean Rebello, of Ridgeway; her sons, Charles (Ruth) Walczak, of Ridgeway and Frank (Danielle) Walczak, of Warrenville, IL; 7 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; her brother, Francis (Olga) Grasser, of Woodstock, IL; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 sisters and 3 brothers.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 25, 2010 at ST. BRIDGET’S CATHOLIC CHURCH in Ridgeway. Fr. Peter Auer will officiate. Burial will be held in Assumption Cemetery in Wheaton, IL. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until time of Mass on Thursday at the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made to the Knights of Columbus Seminarian Support, Msgr. Bier Council No. 10905 or Upland Hills Hospice.
