Mineral Point - Don D. Johnson, age 78, of Mineral Point, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Monday, January 11, 2010 at his home after a short illness. He was born in Hick Hollar, West Virginia on November 16, 1931 the son of Audrey Christine Lilly and was the great grandson of Henry “Hick” Garretson. Don served in the United States Army for 5 years. He worked for the Mineral Point Hodan Center for 17 years before his retirement.
Don is survived by his loving wife, Noretta “Rita”, of Mineral Point; his four children, Don (Laura) Johnson, of Montfort, Ron (Jane) Johnson, Tim (Vicki) Johnson, and Nori (Todd) Gundlach, all of Mineral Point; 16 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his son, Tom, his mother, Audrey, and three brothers.
Memorial graveside services will be held on May 16, 2010 with Military rites accorded by the Mineral Point American Legion and VFW.
