Jeske, A. Elaine
May 17, 1924 - November 13, 2011

Dodgeville - A. Elaine Jeske, age 87, of Dodgeville, peacefully passed away on Sunday, November 13, 2011 at Good Samaritan Society Nursing Home in Fennimore.

Elaine was born Alice Elaine-Harriet Irish on May 17, 1924 in Alma Center, WI, the beloved daughter of Harold and Beatrice (Lazotte) Irish. Her family later moved to Neillsville, WI, where Elaine graduated from Neillsville High School. She met her future husband, Frederick “Fritz” Jeske when he was a dental student at Marquette University. They married on April 10, 1945 at St. Patrick’s Church in Fayetteville, NC and lived there while Fritz was stationed at Fort Bragg as a dentist. He later achieved the rank of Colonel in the U.S. Army. Fritz and Elaine then moved “back home” to Dodgeville, WI to work and raise their family. Elaine worked at Leone’s Clothing Store and was a homemaker. She enjoyed the changing seasons, especially fall, art and painting, home decorating, refurnishing furniture, cooking for family, and playing cards. Elaine especially loved family gatherings and holidays, and Christmas was her favorite time of the year.

Elaine is loved and sadly missed by her children, Sherrie (Larry) Zinck, of Boscobel, Rick (Nancy) Jeske, of Elk Grove Village, IL and Bob (Linda) Jeske, of Mt. Dora, FL; much loved eight grandchildren, Patrick Jeske, of Lisle, IL, Christina (Chris) Stockton, of Bloomington, MN, Eric Zinck, of LaCrosse, Aaron (Tara) Zinck, of Deer Park, WI, Joanna (Luke) Glasbrenner, of Boscobel, Todd Zinck, of Ho Chi Minh City, Viet Nam, Kimberly (Perry) LaBore, of Eagle, CO and Kevin Zinck, of Eagle, CO; eleven great grandchildren, Faith, Grace, Levi, Lilah and Joseph Glasbrenner, Addison, Aidan and Ava Zinck, Gabrielle, Holleigh and Noelle Stockton; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Fritz, her dearly loved son, Jim, her parents, her sister, and brother-in-law, Genevieve and Louis Zschernitz, her nephew, Ronnie Zschernitz, her sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Lucille and Urban Doyle.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 17, 2011 at ST. JOSEPH’S CATHOLIC CHURCH in Dodgeville. Father Patrick Wendler will officiate. Inurnment will be held in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Friends may call from 9:30 a.m. until time of Mass on Thursday at the church.

Our family would like to thank the Good Samaritan - Fennimore staff for their love and compassionate caring of our mother and grandmother, Elaine.
