Ellenboro Township - Charles F. Hummel, age 59, of Ellenboro Township, passed away on Sunday, November 20, 2011 at Upland Hills Health in Dodgeville.
He was born on April 10, 1952 in Santa Barbara, California, a son of the late Francis and Ernestine (Batastini) Hummel. Charles was a Californian by birth and a Wisconsinite by choice. He worked in social work for Grant County for many fulfilling years, helping hundreds of people. In his younger days, he was the life of the party, known for his quick wit and off the wall humor. He was a lover of books, fishing and the Green Bay Packers.
Charles is survived by his son, David (Jennifer) Hummel; his brother, Rick (Sheila) Hummel; his two nieces, Hillary and Allison Hummel; other relatives and friends.
A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, November 25, 2011 at the GORGEN-McGINLEY & AYERS FUNERAL HOME in Dodgeville. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until time of service on Friday at the funeral home.
