Barneveld / Darlington - Aric A Douglas, age 32, of Barneveld and formerly of Darlington, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, January 3, 2010 at Upland Hills Health in Dodgeville. He was born in Monroe on November 9, 1977, the son of Allen and Kay (Leu) Douglas. He graduated from Darlington High School in 1996. He later attended Vermillion Community College in Minnesota where we played football for two years. He married Denise James on November 4, 2006 at St Mary’s - St Paul’s Catholic Church in Mineral Point. He loved his job at Mini Tube of America in Mt Horeb, where he has worked for the last 4 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, horses and football, he especially loved to cook and to polka dance.
Aric is survived by his loving wife, Denise and infant daughter, Kelsey, of Barneveld; his parents, Kay and Steve Wang, of Wiota and Allen “Butch” and Anne Douglas, of Mineral Point; a brother, Dylan Douglas (Kayla Geier), of Darlington; a sister, Dana Douglas (Brandon Poad), of Brooklyn; a mother-in-law, Mary (Jerry) Fletcher, of Mineral Point; brothers-in-laws, Eric (Jill) James, of Mt Horeb and Mike (Megan) James, of Dodgeville; his grandparents, Pauline and Buck Douglas, Delbert Leu, Russell and Alice Wang. He is preceded in death by his grandma, Mary Leu, his grandpa, Al Douglas and his father-in- law, Al James.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday January 8, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Ss MARY & PAUL CATHOLIC CHURCH in Mineral Point. Father Peter Auer will officiate. Burial will be in St Mary’s Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call on Thursday, January 7, 2010 from 4:00 until 8:00 pm and on Friday from 10:00 until 10:45 at Ss MARY & PAUL CATHOLIC CHURCH in Mineral Point.
Aric was a loving son, husband, father and brother who will be sadly missed.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family would be appreciated.
