October 13, 1928 - December 25, 2011

Dodgeville / Stoughton - Joan V. Anderson (nee Vanderpoel), age 83, of Dodgeville, formerly of Stoughton, passed away at home on Sunday, December 25, 2011. She was born in Lodi, Wisconsin October 13, 1928 to Manley and Clara Vanderpoel. Joan was an avid volunteer of the Stoughton Food Pantry and at First Lutheran Church where she was an active member. In Dodgeville she was a member of Grace Lutheran Church where she participated in quilting and other activities.

Joan is survived by her brother, Robert Vanderpoel of Waunakee; her two sisters-in-law, Ann (Fred) McDevitt of Mallard, Iowa and Mary (Doug) Robinson of Pasadena, California; her sons, Gerald (Lauren) Anderson of Oxford, Michigan, John (Paula) Anderson of Clermont, Florida, Jay (Sheila) Anderson of Racine, Wisconsin, and Jeffrey (Elsa) Anderson of Wind Lake, Wisconsin; her daughter, Debra Villa of Dodgeville, Wisconsin; her son-in-law, Willie Brown of Waunakee, Wisconsin; her ten grandchildren, Kyle, Erin, Paige, Joanna, and Jeffrey Anderson; Gail (Jason) Benefiel, Ana Ochoa; Brittany (Andy) Nordstrum, Bryana and Garret Champagne.

She was preceded in death by her husband Everett D. Anderson, daughter Linda Beecraft Brown, and son-in-law Arturo Villa.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 29, 2011 at the OLSON-HOLZHUTER-CRESS FUNERAL HOME, 206 W. Prospect Ave., Stoughton. Private family inurnment will be held in Lutheran South Cemetery in Stoughton. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until time of service on Thursday at the OLSON-HOLZHUTER-CRESS FUNERAL HOME, 206 W. Prospect Ave., Stoughton.

The Gorgen-McGinley & Ayers Funeral Home in Dodgeville is assisting the family.
